Tornado observed in the Sutherland District (9 December 2012 18h53 SAST)

The skyline last night at Sutherland Observatory. Pictures were taken between 18h53 and 18h58 in a westerly direction from SALT.

  1. While I'm aware that tornadoes are not unusual in South Africa at this time of the year, I still have to say one thing. "Climate change anyone"? Let's face it, tornadoes are occurring more and more frequently in South Africa and climate change is clearly the culprit.
