GEORGE NEWS - Two people died in two separate tractor accidents this past weekend.
The first incident took place on Saturday, January 21, on a farm near Herold (just outside George).
According to police, Emile Welgemoed was driving his tractor on his farm near a riverbank when the tractor fell into the river, pinning him down.
Welgemoed (41) passed away on the scene.
During the second incident, a young farmer from Geelhoutboom was killed yesterday afternoon (Sunday, January 22).
Jacob Meyer (22) allegedly drove the tractor off a small bridge and the tractor fell on him.
He passed away on the scene.
Two cases of Culpable Homicide are being investigated.
