Bronkhorstspruit power outage continues after lightning strike

Bronkhorstspruit residents could be without electricity until Thursday, the Tshwane Municipality said.

This after a lightning bolt struck the town's substation on Sunday.

A transformer was damaged and the backup unit was in for repairs.

The municipality's Phalane Motale said technicians would install a spare unit from the Centurion substation.

“The transformer has already been transported from Centurion to Bronkhorstspruit.”

Motale said the residents could be without power for the next few days.
