VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Death bells are ringing for the SA Weather and Disaster Observation Service. Yes, it is true. Within the next couple of weeks/months the fate and the future of the SAWDOS will be decided by the Parliamentary working group under the Portfolio Committee on Water and Environmental Affairs.
Will the SAWDOS survive? Survival looks bleak and it would appear that citizens of South Africa will in future have to rely on the SA Weather Service for all severe weather information. Read more about the future of the SAWDOS tomorrow under the topic: Update: Death bells are ringing for the SA Weather and Disaster Observation Service
The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.
