A freak accident in Lenasia this afternoon has left a man dead and another man with minor injuries after a tree blew over onto them.
The men were working outside at a company next to the Railway Crossing in Lenasia. It appears that strong winds in the area may have uprooted the large tree and had then blown it over onto them. The man in his 40′s was crushed beneath the tree, and due to the nature of the injuries that he had sustained, there was nothing more that paramedics could do for him. He had already died from his injuries.
The second man had been struck by some of the branches on his shoulder, and after on scene treatment he was taken to Lenmed Private Hospital by ambulance.
Shortly after the incident, heavy rains set in over the area.
