The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.

Real-Time Storm Observation: Middelburg, Mpumalanga (5 January 2012 17h15 - 17h30 SAST)
Images: Marna Louw (Click on images for larger view.)
These were taken between 17:15 and 17:30 of the storm clouds passing over Middelburg, Mpumalanga. They had a very eerie strange color to them that you can't see too clearly on the pics. But it was different than all the previous storms in the last few weeks maybe even months. - Marna Louw
