Two teenagers have drowned in North West, police said on Tuesday.
A 13-year-old boy drowned while swimming with friends in a quarry in Magogwe Village, near Mahikeng, on Monday, said Captain Adele Myburgh.
His friends tried to rescue him, but were unsuccessful.
Police divers recovered the body.
A 17-year-old boy drowned on Monday while fishing with friends in Bloemhof on the Vaal river, said Myburgh.
She said the teenager waded into the water to untie his fishing line, but the water was deeper than he thought and he drowned.
