2 firemen hurt in Durban flat fire
Two firemen are recovering after suffering minor burns while extinguishing a blaze at a block of flats in Durban's Windermere area.
ER24's Derrick Banks says the two emergency workers were treated at the scene in Adrain Road this morning before being taken to hospital.
Banks says the fire department arrived on scene within minutes and firefighters were able to prevent the fire from engulfing the whole building.
He says, however, the top floor's been gutted. No was else has been hurt.
"Everyone from the block of flats was evacuated before emergency personnel arrived on scene. The fire department has been going through the block bit by bit, just to make sure everything has been extinguished," Banks said.
