Western Cape firefighters battle another blaze

Western Cape firefighters are on Monday battling another fire in the mountains above Caledon in the Western Cape.

On Sunday, firefighters managed to extinguish the fire in Stanford near Hermanus which had been burning for more over a week.

Overberg district municipality's fire chief Reinard Geldenhuys said ground crews have been deployed.

“The Stanford fire is out. It is being watched at the moment. We are deploying ground teams today to make sure it stays out. Another fire in the Caledon area is being worked on right now."
