Brazzaville victims receive medical attention

Medical teams are working around the clock to clear the backlog of patients that were left hurt by the Brazzaville disaster in Congo.

At least 200 people were killed and thousands injured when an munitions factory caught fire in a residential area more last Sunday.

Frustrated South African surgeons warned several patients were likely to die if they did not agree to necessary amputation.

Septicemia set in on a number of those that were critically injured in the explosions.

South African doctors shared their supplies with medical teams from Germany, France and Cameroon.

Translators assisted with language barriers in operating theatres.

Doctors were cautiously monitoring malaria patients, but were pleased to report no cases of cholera.
