Health workers at Zalingei camp have reported the emergence of meningitis cases. The Chairman of the Health Committee said a limited number of cases have appeared, but they are concerned because of the lack of vaccines and other medical supplies available in the camp. He added that they had reported the cases to the officials of the only organisation working at the camp, the Norwegian Church Aid. He appealed to the World Health Organisation and other bodies working in the health for urgent action to treat the cases of meningitis that have emerged, and provide vaccines to curb it from spreading, particularly in the intense heat of the summer.
