Cape Town - Two men who went fishing off the coast of Elands Bay, north of Cape Town, were still missing on Friday, the National Sea Rescue Institute said.
"At about 18:00 [Thursday] they left Elands Bay to go fishing. As it got dark the motors packed up and they've been at sea since," said spokesperson Craig Lambinon.
He said despite being in cellphone contact with the fishermen, they were unable to locate them because they did not know where they had drifted to.
Flares had been sent up, but the men had not seen them.
Lambinon said police and the airforce had joined the search.
