SEDGEFIELD - A man who went missing at Sedgefield's Myoli Beach yesterday afternoon (Sunday, April 1), is suspected to have drowned.
At 16:15 yesterday afternoon, the NSRI Wilderness volunteer sea rescue duty crew was alerted following reports of a drowning at Myoli Beach. According to reports, two South Korean men were swept out to sea.
On arrival at the scene, one of the men (30 years old) was treated for near drowning symptoms and transported to hospital by ambulance.
The other man (22) remains missing.
By last light, an extensive air, sea and shore search had revealed no sign of the missing man. A Police Dive Unit has been activated to continue the search this morning.
The South Korean Consulate assisted NSRI with language interpretation.
