The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.

Real Time Weather Observation: Noordhoek/Long Beach, Cape Town
Well there was little or no rain last night. Overall there seem to have been bands of fronts coming over with clear skies in between. I would guess about 2 hours between the 'fronts' (since 10pm last night), with maybe a 1/2 hour clear sky gap with maybe 1/8ths cloud cover.
