It appears that a man on a tractor suddenly lost control of the vehicle while he was cutting grass on one of the agricultural holdings in Bashewa in the East of Pretoria this afternoon.
The young man then allegedly tried to jump from the out of control tractor, just before it crashed into a fence pole. He was unable to clear the tractor totally and he got caught underneath it. The tractor then drove over the man’s torso and pelvic region leaving him with severe traumatic injuries. Paramedics from the Pretoria branch were called to the farm, and found the man still crushed under the back tyre of the tractor. His injuries had been fatal and there was nothing left for paramedics to do for him. The 25 year old was declared dead on scene.
Local authorities were also called to the incident to investigate the cause.
