Johannesburg – Die Suid-Afrikaanse weerdiens sê hy kan nog nie bevestig dat die weersverskynsels wat groot verwoesting in die Vrystaat gesaai het, wel tornado's was nie.
Karl Loots, ‘n weervoorspeller, sê die toestande was wel bevorderlik daarvoor, het RSG berig.
Talle foto's is intussen op sosiale netwerke soos Facebook en Twitter versprei wat die moontlikheid van 'n reeks tornado's op verskeie punte in die provinsie versterk.
Paramedici van ER24 het intussen in ‘n verklaring gesê die storms het minstens agt mense se lewens geëis. Talle ander mense is ook beseer.
OFM het vroeër berig ‘n student aan die Noordwes-universiteit het in die storm omgekom.
