*Photos* 50 homeless after Durban fire

Fifty people have been left homeless after a fire at the Kennedy Road informal settlement in Durban.

Residents says the blaze started mid-morning yesterday and swept through part of the camp.

Mayor James Nxumalo and a team from Disaster Management have been on the site of the blaze and are assessing the situation.

Residents have been trawling through ash and debris to see if any of their belongings escaped the flames.

22 homes were destroyed by the fire.
