The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.

Your blood can save a life
WESTERN CAPE NEWS - The Western Cape's blood supply is under severe pressure.
Any person older than 16, weighing more than 50kg, who is in general good health and leads a safe lifestyle is eligible to donate blood.
Donors must remember to eat a substantial meal within three to four hours before donating.
Members of the public are urged to SMS 'Blood' to 33507 for information on where to donate.
Alternatively they may call 044 874 2074 or visit the website www.wpblood.org.za for further details.
