A pilot and two passengers had a narrow escape when the light aircraft they were in crashed about 1km from Oribi airport in Pietermaritzburg this morning.
ER24 paramedics and the local Fire Department were on the scene within minutes and found the light aircraft in a field with the passengers and pilot standing outside the aircraft. The paramedics assessed the patients and found they had not been injured in the incident and were just shaken up about the ordeal.
The necessary authorities would investigate the incident further but its believed that the aircraft loss power shortly after takeoff and the pilot had to do an emergency landing.
