About nine residents of Bawku including two females have been injured as a result of a bee invasion in the town. Residents of the Central Business District of Bawku on Tuesday were sent running for cover when the bees emerged to sting them. Speaking to on an Accra based radio station, the Bawku Municipal Chief Executive, Musa Abdulai said the Assembly will meet immediately to undertake a spraying exercise that will drive the insects away. “What we intend to do as a short term measure is to quickly spray around all those areas with very strong insecticide so that it will drive them into the bush rather than making them go in the town,” he said. Hon. Abdulai further mentioned that those who had sustained injuries as a result of the attack had been sent to the Presbyterian Hospital for treatment.
