The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.

Verskeie huise in St Francisbaai beskadig.
Verskeie huise in St Francisbaai in die Oos-Kaap is beskadig en strate is onbegaanbaar ná 'n wal van 'n natuurlike dam gebreek het. Die fratsongeluk is grootliks veroorsaak deur swaar reën in die winter wat die grond deurnat gelaat het. Die woordvoerder van die Kouga munisipaliteit, Laura-Lee Randall sê die water het deur 'n woongebied na die see gestroom. Munisipale werkers doen nood-herstelwerk aan die strate.
