LADYSMITH STORM DAMAGE
Greetings of Peace
Dear Recipients
Gift of the givers has responded with R400 000 of emergency aid to more than 3000 victims displaced by the massive storm in Ladysmith last night. More than 500 houses have been damaged.
Items include: Tents, blankets, sheeting, matresses, food parcels and clothing.
More rains are expected tonight and there is urgent request for more plastic sheeting, none of which is available anywhere in Northern Natal due to the extensive destruction. Gift of the givers has procured another 100 rolls of this essential commodity from Durban and Pietermaritzburg and is already on the way to the storm ravished area. Gift of the givers is working in close association with Ladysmith protection services.
