Rescuers sent to find lost hikers
Eight people have needed rescuing after it is believed that they lost their way while out walking in the vicinity of the Kloof Gorge. They called for help and ER24, the Rescuetech team and SAP Search and Rescue responded.
They obtained cell communication with the lost group, and the rescuers set out to locate them along with the Advanced Life Support paramedic from ER24 who would provide medical assistance where needed. Almost 45 minutes later, the family consisting of four adults, two teenagers and two young children aged 6 and 8 years old had been found. The paramedic quickly checked them out and found that only one of the teens had sustained a minor injury to the shoulder after believed to have fallen against a rock. They were all in a stable condition and able to follow the rescuers out to safety.
