Block Of Flats Gutted By Fire
[DURBAN – 23 FEBRUARY 2012 AT 07H30]
Emergency personnel in Durban were called to a block of flats on Adrain Road, Windermere this morning after reports came in that it was on fire.
When emergency personnel arrived on the scene, they found the residents standing outside on the road. The whole top floor of the block of flats was engulfed in flames and bellowing smoke was pouring out of the roof. The Fire Department were on scene within minutes and were able to contain the fire to the top floor.
Two firemen sustained minor injuries while trying to put the fire out. They were treated on scene and transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care. The cause of the fire will be investigated by the necessary authorities.
