A serious incident occurred this morning at a house in falcon ridge when a gate of a house fell on a nine year old boy, injuring him.
The exact cause of the gate falling over onto the boy is unknown, but the child was allegedly opening the gate when it derailed, tipped over and fell on the boy’s left side hammering him to the ground.
When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene they found that the parents of the boy had already removed the child from underneath the gate, which weighs in excess of 100 kilograms.
The boy then received treatment at the scene for suspected back and neck injuries as well as a head injury before being transported to Mediclinic Vereeniging for further care. The boy is currently in a stable condition.
