A 19 year old man has been killed by a piece of machinery while cleaning it at a brick factory on Louis street in Vereeniging.
Paramedics were called to the scene to assist when the young man;s colleagues found him knelt in front of the machine. It appears that while he was cleaning the machine, one of the moving parts knocked him on his head. The traumatic injuries that he had sustained to his head were fatal and initial assessments by paramedics revealed no signs of life and he was sadly declared dead on scene.
The exact details of the fatal accident at the factory will need to be investigated by the Safety Officers at the factory as well as local police.
