From the NASA Goddard web site: "From Saturday, June 30, 2012 the Goddard Greenbelt facility will be operating under a Code Red due to a center-wide power outage because of the recent storm. Non-emergency employees are excused from duty unless the day is an employee's Maxiflex day. When power is restored this message will be updated and also an email with be blasted to all employees."
"Code Red: Non-emergency employees are excused from duty for the entire day unless the day is an employee's Maxiflex day. Due to the poor road conditions on Center, all non-essential employees should refrain from coming on Center for the day. 2nd and 3rd shift road conditions: Call 301-286-6397 to plan your commute to the Center."

The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.
