CAPE TOWN - Inclement weather has wreaked havoc in the Cape, with snow shutting down parts of the N1 on Tuesday morning.

Management at the Montagu Springs resort in the Breederiver Valley are preparing themselves for massive flood damage.

A bridge connecting Montagu Springs with the adjacent Avalon Springs Resort has washed away, leaving a number of families stranded.

The rising water levels of the Keisie River washed away the bridge.

Manager, Rob Gooderson said they may need to airlift those patrons out.

“I’ve been in contact with the metro services in our area and they have a helicopter on standby in case there are any emergencies. We might require their services to get those guests from the villa’s. However, at this point I am not sure what will happen.”

Roads have been closed across the nation on Tuesday due to inclement weather.
