A man was killed and five others were injured when a tornado destroyed a house near the Vaal Dam in Deneysville this evening.
Common cause information suggests that the tornado moved off the dam and laid waste to the structure, razing it to the ground.
Netcare911 Paramedics arrived at the scene to find one man in a critical condition, having been crushed by falling rubble. They immediately initiated care and his condition deteriorated drastically. Sadly he succumbed to his injuries.
Five others who had sustained minor injuries were transported by ambulance to a nearby medical facility.
