ER24 and local law enforcement authorities took part in a mock drill this morning which was organised by Century City security.
The drill followed the synopsis of a cash in transit heist in which numerous vehicles would be involved. Shortly before 11am the paramedics were dispatched to the scene on Century boulevard in Century City to find multiple patients which had sustained gunshot injuries.
With typical Cape Town weather being the order of the day, ER24 and all the other authorities participating in the drill, went about their business in simulating the incident. Within 45 minutes the incident was cleared. All the “patients” had been treated appropriately before being transported from the scene.
The success of the drill was evident as not even the rain and chilling wind could stop the participants in displaying their true commitment to the cause, even if this was only a drill. Thank you to all who participated in making the simulation a success.
