If you have an Automatic Position Reporting System (APRS) weather station linked to your computer, along with internet access, the SAWDOS encourages you to share your data. The SAWDOS provides a link network for real-time APRS weather stations, making it available to the general public.
The APRS Network was expanded to collect APRS weather station data via the internet from non-amateur radio licensed weather station owners as well.
APRS weather station data can be easily displayed on Internet Workstations. By providing real-time weather information from areas that currently lack observations, APRS weather stations help the SAWDOS to make more informed decisions concerning the issuance of potentially life-saving hazardous weather warnings.
