A 12yr old boy has been given a second chance after nearly drowning in the pool of his residence at Crystal Park in Benoni this afternoon.
ER24 received a call through say that a child had drowned and that members of public had pulled out of the pool and were doing CPR. The paramedics arrived on the scene and found the child lying on the floor with the members of public gathered around. They assessed him and found he had a pulse and was breathing on his own. He was taken through to a nearby hospital for a general medical intervention.
It is believed that the child was submerged under the water for 5 min. He was pulled out by family and a neighbour ran across and helps assist with CPR. The quick thinking of everybody to do CPR saved the boy's life.
