The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.

Flowers for Italtile and NSRI off Robberg
Our Plettenberg Bay and Knysna volunteers went to the Italtile crash site off Plettenberg Bay’s Robberg peninsular early this morning (13 January 2012) to pay homage to those who were lost in the crash as well as to Ray Farnham and Wally Hyman. They put flowers in the water at sunrise to coincide with the Italtile Kilimanjaro team who were summiting at the same time. Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those who died in the accident as well as Wally and Ray’s families and friends.
