GEORGE NEWS - A German tourist who went paragliding near Kleinkrantz beach yesterday (Sunday, 29 January) was injured after the wing of his glider caught onto a wind sock just after take-off.
According to an observer, a senior pilot from Skywings, the man was flung into the lapa of a house near the launch site on Paradise Ridge, a high dune stretching along the beach from Kleinkrantz to Gericke's Point.
The man was airlifted to the George Medi-clinic.
According to Judy Muller, Medi-clinic spokesperson, he is in a stable condition, but is scheduled to be transferred to the Vincent Palotti Hospital in Cape Town this afternoon. She could not release his name. She said an interpreter had to be brought in to communicate with him and his family.
