The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.

Ek stuur een foto van die stofstorm by die Frans Conradie skool in Despatch, soms kan mens nie eers die skool sien nie soos die suidwester teen 63 kmp die stof opwaai. Temperatuur binneshuis 29 grade humiditeit 65% Baro druk 996 hpa. W/B Johann Pretorius, Despatch.
