The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.

Real Time Weather Observation: Germiston (20 January 2012)
I took a couple of shots, from about quarter passed six in the evening, till ten passed seven this same evening, and all looks beautifully clear (we had a beautiful, sunny, hot and hugely clear day today) with some clouds in the far distance around sunset... thanks for the great site and best wishes to all. Obs Raine and Pierre Carosin
