The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.

SAWDOS: Heavy Rain is expected on Monday and Tuesday along the Kwazulu Natal North Coast, Eastern Mpumalanga and Eastern parts of the Northern Province. Current models indicate that the low pressure system currently situated south of Madagascar could push in moist air over parts of South Africa. This could result in heavy showers of rain with possible localized flooding. It is still early to predict the exact outcome. The SAWDOS is keeping and eye on the system and will inform our readers of any further developments. Please report any heavy rain possible flooding, gale force winds, rough seas and wave heights to the SAWDOS in the event that this system develop over the next two days.
