The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.

SA Real Time Weather Observation: Johannesburg (6 January 2012 17h30 SAST)
Attached are two photos I thought to share with you and the SAWDOS.
The first is looking west with Sandton skyline visible on the horizon and the sun piercing through the clouds. The second was taken in the Greenstone area looking east. The cloud formation was really spectacular, unfortunately the camera doesn't do it justice. Obs. Rinus Loubser
SAWDOS: Excellent images despite the camera.!!
