Five people were left homeless after a fire destroyed their house in Surrey Estate in Athlone on Friday evening.
The residents lost all their belongings in the blaze.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
Disaster Risk Management's Wilfred Solomons-Johannes said, “Our disaster teams will be at hand to assist the family that was affected by the fire. The City of the Cape Town together with the police will launch an investigation into the cause of the fire.”
