Two toddlers have been killed in a fire that broke out at a block of flats on Victoria Embankment in the Durban city centre a short while ago.
Emergency services say the one-year-old and three-year-old were burnt to death in the blaze that swept through the West Point Lodge.
Officials says it's still unclear what sparked the fire.
ER24's Derrick Banks says emergency officials are on scene.
"We're treating the mother now for shock. Authorities will be investigating what caused the fire," he said.
Meanwhile, the Victoria Embankment has been closed to traffic coming in to the city from the M4 southern freeway.
