[KEMPTON PARK – 02 FEBRUARY 2012 AT 09H45]
A council worker believed to be in his 40’s is in a serious condition after he was testing lines in Birchleigh, Kempton Park when a explosion is believed to have taken place this morning.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the man lying on the verge and in a serious condition. Emergency personnel assessed him and found that he had suffered 40% burns to his body. Advanced Life Support intervention was performed on the patient to stabilise him further. While the paramedics stabilised the patient, the ER24 Discovery Medicopter was called to the scene to airlift the patient to Milpark Hospital for rapid medical care.
The local authorities will investigate the incident as the circumstances for the worker getting injured are not clear.
