Zimbabwe's Energy Minister Elton Mangoma revealed that the dam wall of the giant Lake Kariba is weak and needs repairs.
The lake is one of Zimbabwe's most popular holiday spots and it also provides much of the country's power supply.
Speaking to the Parliamentary portfolio committee, Mangoma said the Kariba Dam wall was weak on the Zimbabwean side.
He said the wall needed anchoring and that his ministry was working on the problem.
The Kariba Dam wall was built between 1955 and 1959 and the work was overseen by Italian engineers.
Around 750 megawatts of electricity is generated at the Kariba power station.
