A magnitude-6.8 earthquake shook southwestern Siberia on Sunday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries from the temblor that rattled the region at 1:17 p.m. local time (0616 GMT), the agency said.
The quake was centered some 11.7 kilometers (7.3 miles) below the surface, the USGS said.
The USGS said the quake hit 100 kilometers (62 miles) east of Kyzyl, Russia and about 892 kilometers (554 miles) northwest of Ulaanbator, Mongolia.
