A 39 year old man was lucky to have escaped a train crashing into his car as he was crossing over the tracks. The incident happened in Kwa Gukwa outside of Witbank.
It is believed according to witnesses, that the car had broken down and the men were pushing the vehicle over the tracks. The reason for them then colliding with the train is unknown and when paramedics were dispatched to the scene they expected the worst.
Fortunately, the only person who was injured was the driver of the car, and he was treated for a badly broken lower right leg as well as other minor injuries.
The incident will be investigated by the local authorities.
