OUDTSHOORN NUUS - Byna vier maande na die tragiese brand by GG-Camp in Bongolethu op 5 November, waartydens sewe mense dood is, is die bedrag van die rampfonds wat deur die burgemeester gestig is bekendgemaak en toegeken.
Tydens 'n oorhandigingseremonie Vrydag 10 Februarie, op die toneel van die brand, het burgemeester Gordon April en raadslede geld aan die slagoffers oorhandig.
Persone en organisasies wat ondersteuning tydens en na die brand verleen het, het sertifikate van erkenning ontvang. Sewentien gesinne wat in GG-Camp gebly het, het elk 'n kontantbedrag van R1000 ontvang.
Die oorblywende gedeelte van die R121 254 sal aangewend word om die tydelike huise van slagoffers op te gradeer en om lewensnoodsaaklikhede soos komberse en ander lewensmiddele te verskaf.
