The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.

Reminder: SAWDOS now on Facebook
On the SAWDOS Facebook Group you will find discussions, opinions, photos, videos and archival news relating to weather and disasters.
Facebook is used by the SAWDOS to connect weather and disaster enthusiasts with friends and others who work, study and live around them.
It's a great way to keep in touch with all observers informing each other of the latest or past weather and disaster events.
