Overberg officials say while the vegetation fire at Stanford near Hermanus is not under control, they have managed to prevent it from spreading further.
The blaze started on Saturday.
Thick clouds of smoke could be seen in the area.
On Monday, very strong winds made it very difficult for firefighters to control the fire.
But emergency personnel said the situation has improved on Tuesday.
Overstrand fire chief Riaan Jakobs’ said the crew has been working tirelessly for the past three days and more team members have been brought in to get the fire under control.
No property is in danger at the moment.
