A section of Cape Town’s N1 Highway has been closed to traffic after an oil tanker burst into flames at Brackenfell Boulevard.
Fire and rescue services say the Brent tanker overturned, before catching alight.
Firefighters are currently on their way to the scene.
Fire and Rescue Services Mark Bosch says, “We dispatched two of our fire engines as well as a water tanker and a rescue vehicle.”
Meanwhile, South African Paramedics Services' Rob Nell is at the scene.
“It’s a Brent oil fuel tanker that has overturned on its left side.”
