The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.

Pygmy Whale washes up on rocks
MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A 2.3 meter Pygmy Whale that washed up on the rocks at Diaz Beach is most likely a casualty of the bad weather experienced in Mossel Bay over the past weekend.
Bad weather resulted in heavy swells of up to six meters, and beaches in the Mossel Bay area were covered in driftwood and debris.
