The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.

Detail: Valid for 04-03-2012: 1. Heavy rainfall (> 50mm in 24 hours)is expected today (Sunday) over the eastern KwaZulu-Natal. Watch: Gale force SW-ly ( 35kt/ 65km/h) is expected in places between Port Edward and Maputo Bay. Valid for 05-03-2012: 1.
